The Members
Matt
Matt, the paterfamilias of the Silverfists, is an artist and educator from Silver City, New Mexico. Though his formal training is in figurative painting at the New York Academy of Art, he has always loved the creative and quirky possibilities of illustration. His illustration aesthetic was thoroughly shaped in the 1990's by Albert Uderzo's Asterix the Gaul and all things Warner Brothers - from Looney Tunes to the Animaniacs to Batman the Animated Series. He first dreamed up the idea of the Silverfists in High School and is thrilled to now have some talented colleagues to join him in the pursuit.

Bee
Bee, from the small kingdom of Silver City, catches herself using illustration in all sorts of instances, and rarely reads a book without making a few sketches of the characters. She has been inspired by old masters such as N. C. Wyeth, but also has found even more relevance in such illustrators/ illustrations as those of Carson Ellis, Erica Henderson, Noelle Stevenson, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra, Voltron: Legendary Defender, and Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit. Her interest in both realism and a more simplistic style have long been conflicted, but she seems to balance it most of the time. Bee has been greatly enjoying what the other members have brought forward, and hopes you enjoy them as well!

NJNJ is student of arts and storytelling based out of Southwestern New Mexico.
She's been a Silverfist since forever and has fun updating and revising the website (she likes to consider herself unofficial site manger)! When not creating art or hiking in the mountains, you can find NJ with her nose in a book, most likely a Japanese or German fantasy novel. Follow NJ on Tumblr |
